CACTUS-GRO+ by LAVA-LITE is a specialist growing media made from natural volcanic stone. Formed during volcanic eruptions and the cooling process that follows, it is not heat-treated or chemically altered like perlite or vermiculite. The result is a clean, inert and pH neutral product that is completely natural and safe to use with all cacti and succulents. Its attractive, stone-like appearance also makes it ideal for decorative top dressing.
Designed to meet the needs of plants that prefer dry conditions, CACTUS-GRO+ provides excellent drainage and allows air to circulate freely around the roots. It can hold up to 25 percent of its own weight in moisture and releases it gradually, helping to reduce the risk of overwatering, which is a common issue with indoor cacti and succulents. It also prevents water from pooling at the base of pots, which can cause root rot.
This growing media can be used in several ways. It works well when mixed into regular cactus compost to improve drainage and airflow, or it can be used entirely on its own for soilless growing and propagation. It is especially helpful for cuttings, where moisture balance is key to successful rooting. As a top dressing, CACTUS-GRO+ helps lock in moisture and keeps the surface tidy, while adding a clean, modern look to plant displays.
To use as a top layer, apply a 2 to 2.5 cm layer over the surface of your soil and gently pat it down, making sure it reaches the edges of the pot. If you are mixing it into compost, aim for 15 to 25 percent of the total volume, depending on the drainage needs of the plant. For full soilless use, fill the bottom of the pot with around 5 cm of CACTUS-GRO+, place in your plant (without compost), and continue filling around the root ball with the product, levelling the top when finished.

Faulty or Damaged Items:

Unwanted Returns & Exchanges:
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund.

Items should be unused and in their original packaging. Partial refunds or exchanges may be offered for
products not in their original condition or returned after 30 days.
Your Statutory Rights (UK):
Under UK law, you have a 14-day right to cancel your order from the day after you receive it.
If you return your entire order within this period, we will also refund our standard delivery charge.
Return shipping costs remain your responsibility unless the items are faulty or sent in error.

Refunds:

Approved refunds are usually applied to your original payment method within 7–14 business days.
